Description

Begin this lesson by discussing season of Lent with your students, and then go through the Stations of the Cross. Take time to discuss how the bible verse goes with each station. After you have discussed the stations, have your students reflect on two things: what they will give up/what they will do during Lent (put this on the cross) AND ask them how they can be a light to others during the Lenten season (put this on the sun). With each part of the resource create a classroom bulletin board or a hallway display.

Included in this resource:

  • 15 Stations of the Cross with connecting Bible Verse (Color & B&W)
  • Two sets of words: “Christ Be Our Light” and “Stations of the Cross”
  • PNGs of Letter for Cricut
  • Suns & Crosses (for students to complete using the directions in the download)
  • Teaching Ideas
  • Printing Instructions

Met expectations Great value I used these for the Way of the Cross in our school, rather than as a bulletin board. For each station, classes rotated around the building and reflected on the station picture with a reflection I had made. The graphics were simple but meaninful for all our students regardless of grade.

  4. Jill K. –

This was a great bulletin board for Lent. I used acucut stars and crosses for my students to write what they were giving up and what they were doing positive and it really pulled it all together. Easy to print stations included!

  5. Lynn L. –

Met expectations Great value I am not great about putting up student work in the hallway outside my room (and actually, not a lot of people see them because of where my classroom is), but I do try to have something timely there. This was perfect for Lent, and a good way to start Lent off, by looking at the stations. I made the cross out of their suns and then put the smaller crosses at the bottom must like in the picture and it came out pretty well. I put a string from one station to the next, but if I do this again I think I will put footprints!

  6. Megan B. –

Their ideas were so unique. The display came together so nicely and was very easy to assemble. I would recommend this for all Catholic schools and teachers!
